At Hershire Animal Hospital, we recommend any pet be examined once to twice yearly for a routine and thorough check up from head to tail and toes! This ensures accuracy in keeping up with important changes in weight, heart/lungs, dental health, lumps or bumps, and orthopedic changes. After the age of 5 years, we highly recommend monitoring yearly bloodwork to observe any changes that can start to occur systemically as our pets age.
If you are a new client coming to Hershire Animal Hospital, please submit the patient's previous medical history at least two business days prior to your appointment. We will call your previous veterinarian to request to have your records sent directly to us if requested. New clients are required to pay a non-refundable deposit when scheduling their first appointment.
When you enter into our building, your pet will be able to relax in our beautiful lobby. They can choose whether to sit on the floor, or even better: grab a pillow and relax on the benches with you. You'll be greeted by our friendly front desk team who will get you checked-in for your appointment. Our lobby is designed to keep cats on one side and dogs on the other to try and promote a less stressful visit for our feline friends! If you have pup who is not friendly with other pup-friends, please advise the front desk team and they will happily put you into a room or allow you to wait comfortably in the car until your appointment begins to ensure safety. We follow a strict "3 ft. rule" as guidance to keep all pets safe from one another as sometimes this environment brings out unpredictable moods in our pets. Our technicians will escort you into one of our four exam rooms to ask some important history and health questions.. They will also answer any of your questions on vaccines, preventions, and wellness care. After this, the veterinarian will perform a comprehensive examination on your pet and answer any questions you may have. Any diagnostics or testing that need to be performed can be completed while you wait in the room. Your check-out process will be your last stop, where the front desk team will be happy to schedule any future appointments or additional requests. We are always striving to provide a quality of service and patient care that is above and beyond. We hope to always meet your expectations and continue delivering a PAWSitive experience for you and your pets.
